Club events provide Bernese owners and enthusiasts with opportunities to join in social activities, and educate members and others concerning Bernese Mountain Dogs and the responsibilities of dog ownership. Programs and activities are held throughout the year and are announced in the bi-monthly club newsletter, the Yodels.
In February at our annual awards meeting, we recognize BMDCSEW dogs who have earned titles in all areas during the previous year, as well as those who have performed public service as therapy dogs. The last weekend of February/first weekend in March the club hosts a Regional Specialty show. A spring fun match is held in April/May. May activities include a drafting workshop. In September we host several days of Draft Tests and Bernerfest. Bernerfest is an all day event with many dog activities for all including training, grooming or other workshops.
The club's Annual Meeting is held in November. All general meetings include both a business meeting and an educational program of general interest to the membership. Past programs have covered a wide range of topics related to health, behavior, training, showing, grooming, and breeding. Guests are always welcome to attend our meetings.
